It would be nice if I could encapsulate my whole self-concept in a few legible sentences or paragraphs, maybe. The thing is, I don't really know, I don't think. As you can see, every thing I might say should probably come with a disclaimer of some kind. Maybe that points to my tendencies toward existentialism.

But maybe this isn't about self-concept. Maybe it's more like a first date. Hmm…. I have a big family (with which I don't live), I work as a police reporter for a daily newspaper, I'm almost done with college ….. I ask many questions. Maybe if I learn enough about you and everyone and can tell all the stories, I will know what is mine to contribute. (How trite.)

I like thinking. I like thinking about thinking about thinking. In some ways, I'm more comfortable in the abstract than in reality.

I'm quite emotional. I cry about something about every day. I have nice times, too, though. I like wine and good food and I really like coffee (black – flavoring or dillution is only good to cover up the taste of bad coffee.) I enjoy being intrigued, be it by Vietnam War veterans or girls on the bus or precocious children, or cockroaches or the study of language and its effects on …. whatever.
